Luiz Melodia


 Luiz Carlos dos Santos (Rio de Janeiro, 7 de janeiro de 1951), mais conhecido como Luiz Melodia, é um cantor e compositor brasileiro de MPB, rock, blues,soul e samba. Filho do sambista e compositor Oswaldo Melodia, de quem herdou o nome artístico, cresceu no morro de São Carlos no bairro do Estácio.
Luiz Melodia foi muito influenciado pela Jovem Guarda, sobretudo Roberto Carlos.
Começou sua carreira musical em 1963 com o cantor Mizinho, ao mesmo tempo em que trabalhava como tipógrafo, vendedor, caixeiro e músico em bares noturnos. Em 1964 formou o conjunto musical Os Instantâneos, com Manoel, Nazareno e Mizinho. Lança seu primeiro LP em 1973Pérola Negra. No "Festival Abertura", competição musical da Rede Globo, consegue chegar à final com sua canção "Ébano".
Nas décadas seguintes Melodia lança diversos álbuns e realiza shows, inclusive internacionais. Em 1987 apresenta-se em Chateauvallon, na França e emBernaSuíça, além de participar em 1992 do "III Festival de Música de Folcalquier" na França e em 2004 do Festival de Jazz de Montreux à beira do Lago Lemán, onde se apresentou no Auditorium Stravinski, palco principal do festival.
É um ilustre torcedor do Vasco da Gama, tendo participado do Megashow comemorativo dos 113 anos do clube, onde apresentou as músicas "Estácio, Eu e Você" e "Congênito".1

Son of samba and Melody composer Oswaldo, who inherited the artistic name, grew up on the hill of San Carlos in the neighborhood of Estacio.
Luiz Melodia was greatly influenced by the Young Guard, especially Roberto Carlos.
He began his musical career in 1963 with singer Mizinho, while working as a typesetter, salesperson, salesman and musician in nightclubs. In 1964 he formed the musical group The Snapshots with Manoel, Nazarene and Mizinho. Released their first LP in 1973, the Black Pearl. In "Festival Opening" music competition Globo, can reach the final with his song "Ebony".
In the following decades Melody launches several albums and performs concerts including internationally. In 1987 comes in Chateauvallon, France and Bern, Switzerland, in addition to participating in 1992's "III Folcalquier Music Festival" in France in 2004 and the Montreux Jazz Festival on the edge of Lake Geneva, where she performed at Auditorium Stravinski, the main stage of the festival.
It is a distinguished supporter of Vasco da Gama, having participated in the Megashow commemorating the 113 years of the club, where he introduced the songs "Estacio, Me and You" and "congenital" .1
